Working Hours and Leave
| The working hours and the leave system for national public service employees is provided for by the law and the NPA rule. The NPA ensures appropriate working hours and a leave system in accordance with social and economic changes, and the proper operation of the system in cooperation with each ministry. The working hours of staff are 38 hours and 45 minutes per week in principle. Staff engaged in 24-hour services, such as prison officers and coast guard officers, work under a shift work system. All staff except those working under the shift work system can work with flextime since April 2016. Working Hour System
